The Christmas Charity Event & 5th Anniversary of the Dragons Business club on 20 December in Rotterdam was a great success! The turnout of the event was high with a fantastic atmosphere and a good proceed for the charitable purpose. During the event there was a auction with many interesting prizes for the charitable purpose, such as businessclass tickets by Cathay Pacific Airways, pendant with diamonds, modern art paintings, champagne grand cru, iPad2 etc., etc. The proceeds of the auction will go to a specific charity goal: a project called ‘China in de Lage landen’ for the Chinese community in the Netherlands by the National Hepatitus Centre. The proceeds of the auction is almost Eur. 7.000,-. Marijke Mostert, project coordinator of the National Hepatitus Centre, was very glad with the donation by the Dragons Business club to her project.

Prominent guests
This unique and festive event was also attended by serveral prominent guests like Jochum Haakma, chairman of NCH, Hamit Karakus, vice-mayor of the City of Rotterdam, Henk Kool, vice-mayor of the City of The Hague, Dominic Schrijer, former vice-mayor of the City of Rotterdam, and Zhang jinxiong, general counselor of the Chinese Embassy.

Dragons Business Award 2012
An important part of the 5th Anniversary of Dragons Businessclub was the announcing of the winner for the Dragons Business Award 2012.

This was a new activity of the business club, which will be from now on organized annually. The Board of Dragons Business club had a difficult task in selecting the suitable candidates from its members. Because many Dragons members were potential candidates. There was first a long list created, followed by a shortlist and then finally 3 candidates were chosen. The selection criteria were: member of Dragons Business club, as a company being active in China-business, based in the Netherlands, providing innovative services or products, young company and growth (both in sales and staff). The winner of the Dragons Business Award 2012 is: Synnray BV in Rotterdam!

Synnray BV is an internet company providing services and information to Chinese living and working in the Netherlands, and Chinese people and companies interested in coming to Holland.
Service provided are advertising, insurance, recruitment, etc. It’s main platform is the website which is the biggest and most influential Chinese portal website in the Netherlands. The website is only in Chinese.

Mr. Ming Lou, director of Synnray, started the company in 2007. Since then sales have a yearly growth of 40% and the database has a yearly 30% growth. In year 2011, more than 30.000 people have registered as new members, which make a total of 116.000 registered members up to now. Ming Lou: ‘Our website has daily 16.000 visitors and 5 million page views per month. In the Netherlands it belongs in the top 500 of most visited websites. has a top ranking of 399. With our website we are on the same level of websites such as Schiphol or Blokker. We are proud of this achievement. We knew that we were selected as one of the candidates, but we didn’t expected to win the Dragons Business Award. W’re totally surprised and are very happy with this Award. This means also a great recognition of our company and that it’s worthwhile to be a member of Dragons Businessclub. It’s a great network for Chinese and Dutch entrepreneurs.’ For the future, Synnray has the ambition to be the first choice for the companies who want to reach Chinese groups in the Netherlands or those who are interested in coming to the Netherlands in purpose of living, working, studying and travelling. With GoGoDutch Ming Lou and his partner Xindan Zhou are aiming to provide the most convenient and useful Chinese platform in the Netherlands and create more understanding between the Dutch and Chinese society.
