Looking back at the Autumn Networking Event in InnovatieFabriek in Zoetermeer

On October 27th, a spectacular networking event was jointly organized by Dragons Businessclub and the City of Zoetermeer. The event took place in “De Innovatiefabriek” in Zoetermeer, with the theme “Chances and opportunities through innovative developments for China business”. More than 110 guests attended the event and they enjoyed a wonderful evening.

The arrival

With the first guest’s arrival at 5 pm,the event began in a friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere. Participants not only talked to those they already knew from previous events to update news and experiences, but also made new acquaintances while enjoying snacks and drinks. After walking around the venue and greeting each other, it was time to move on to the main program.

The presentations

At six o’clock, the main program started with the welcome speech made by Chang Wong, chairman of Dragons Businessclub. After the warm welcome, the opening speech was given by Patrick van Domburg, vice-mayor of the City of Zoetermeer. Mr. Van Domburg shared the interesting story of his trip to China with all the participants and also talked about the friendship and collaboration between Zoetermeer and sister city Xiamen in China. The program was then followed by presentations from two successful entrepreneurs in the Information Technology and Leisure business. The speakers are, respectively, Victor Pardaans, CEO of Remotion Group and Jon Standing, managing director of the project ‘Indoor Golf Arena’.

Victor Pardaans visited China in spring this year, and he praised the amazing city of Xiamen as a place full of possibilities. He not only presented the recent developments of Remotion Group but also addressed clear strategy plans for future progress in China. Similarly, Jon Standing gave some ideas on the contribution of ‘Indoor Golf Arena’ to the future development of indoor golf in China. He talked about his belief in directing the demand instead of serving it. Both entrepreneurs saw the bright future of their business opportunities in China.

The networking

When the main program was over, the Chinese dinner buffet was ready. Participants had a good time while enjoying nice food and getting acquainted with each other. The last program of the evening was the Lucky Draw. Chang Wong hosted the program and Patrick van Domburg drew names for each prize. Together with Chang Wong and Patrick van Domburg’s humorous words, a number of attractive prizes such as books, a smart phone with a 2 year plan, few boxes of wine and free consultancy offered by Remotion Group, went to the winners.

The evening ended in a pleasant and relaxed mood. As autumn is the season of fruitfulness, the guests harvested a pleasant evening and plenty of inspiration from this event. Thank you all for coming, and we look forward to seeing you on our Christmas Charity Event /5th Anniversary event on Tuesday 20 December in ‘het Zalmhuis’ in Rotterdam.
