Great weather, large attendance, nice atmosphere

 

On Friday 5 July the Dragons Businessclub Summer Beach Event took place in Scheveningen. This annual summer event was held for the seventh time and drew a lot of attendees. In fact, this was the most visited beach event ever. Almost 130 persons attended this informal summer event.

Beach Event 2013

The weather was great, a lot of Dragons Businessclub members, but also many new interested persons attended. This event was completed with nice BBQ food, good drinks and a Lucky Draw with many prizes in a great atmosphere.

Farewell to general counselor Zhang Jinxiong

During the event there were speeches by Zhang Jinxiong, general counselor of the Chinese Embassy, who will leave the Netherlands for a new post in Thailand. There was a moment of farewell for him. He visited several times the business events of Dragons Businessclub and wishes all the attendees and especially the members of Dragons a lots of success in the future.

 

Special offers for Dragons Businessclb members

After a few farewell words and some gifts for Zhang Jinxiong, Paul Mosterd, deputy director of De Nieuwe Kerk Amsterdam had an interesting sponsor proposal for all Dragons Businessclub members. His offer regards the coming exposition of the Ming dynasty in De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam from October 2013 till February 2014. A very unique exposition and the premiere will take place in October in Amsterdam.

Another offer was presented by a member of Dragons Businessclub: Cathay Travel Service in Amsterdam. Cathay Travel Service will provide to every Dragons Businessclub member a welcome package and introduces their Cathay Travel Service Fan Club card and lots of other benefits for traveling. Cathay Travel Service is an independent travel agency, established in 1982 and has proven to be one of the leading travel agencies in the Netherlands which is specialized in the Asian market, especially China and Hong Kong. All Dragons Businessclub members will receive soon an emailing regarding this offer and every member can choose to subscribe.

 

Announcement: new chairman in Autumn

During the event there were also a few announcements. Chang Wong, chairman of Dragons Businessclub announced that we will be stepping down as chairman in this coming Autumn. After six great years he thinks it is time to hand over his position to a new chairman: a Dutch Chinese entrepreneur with new ideas, a bright person who has been successful in businesses and also has some time to put energy into Dragons Businessclub. In autumn Atom Zhou, successful entrepreneur in mobile telecommunication, Chinese newspaper and real estate will become the new chairman of Dragons Businessclub. The ambition of Atom Zhou is to extend the contacts and business relationships with other exclusive business clubs in China and to bring Dragons Businessclub to the next level.

Chang Wong will remain in the board of Dragons Businessclub and will guide and assist Atom to fit into his new role as chairman. He will stay involved with the events in Autumn of this year.

 

Vice-mayor Henk Kool and Lucky Draw

After the announcements vice-mayor Henk Kool of the City of The Hague arrived and gave a speech on the recent developments regarding China business in the region of The Hague. Henk Kool is always welcome at the Dragons Businessclub and has attended almost every Summer Beach Event of Dragons. After the BBQ vice-mayor Kool assisted with the presentation of the Lucky Draw. There were many prizes to win, such as nice bottles of wine, catalogues, books, dinner vouchers and the main prize was a IPhone 5. The prizes for the Lucky Draw were sponsored by 88 Mobile and China Times in The Hague, Cathay Travel Service in Amsterdam, Wine Trading Company Chan in Amsterdam, Xin Magazine in The Hague, De Nieuwekerk in Amsterdam and Chinees dimsum restaurant Paramount in Rotterdam.
